This is the fifth and final disc in a series which covers the complete violin and keyboard sonatas by Mozart, and on period instruments. Although Mackintosh and Govier are not the first to take on this task (Rachel Podger and Gary Cooper on Channel Classics; Hiro Kurosaki and Linda Nicholson on Erato), they certainly provide a fresh, beautiful and masterful interpretation with this recording, and indeed series.
Credit to the recording engineers and performers alike, the balance on this recording is excellent, and demonstrates the true duo and equal nature of the instruments in these sonatas.
